Welcome to Assyrian Chaldean Syriac Mental Health!
The Assyrian Chaldean Syriac Mental Health organization is dedicated to addressing the unique mental health needs of the Assyrian, Chaldean, and Syriac communities through a comprehensive approach encapsulated in the acronym REACH:
Research, Education, Awareness, Collaboration, and Healing.
Recognizing the specific cultural, historical, and social factors affecting these communities, the organization aims to foster a supportive environment where individuals can access culturally sensitive mental health services, resources, and support.
What is REACH?
Research, Education, Awareness, Collaboration, and Healing
Research:

Conduct and support studies to understand the mental health challenges and needs specific to the Assyrian, Chaldean, and Syriac communities.

Evaluate the effectiveness of different therapeutic approaches and interventions within these communities to develop evidence-based practices and research.
Education:

Develop and provide educational programs, surveys, and materials for community members to increase understanding of mental health issues, including signs of mental health disorders, the importance of mental health care, and ways to support and understand those affected.

Train and educate unfamiliar mental health professionals on culturally sensitive approaches and practices to effectively serve the Assyrian, Chaldean, and Syriac populations based on data and research found in surveys.
Awareness:

Launch awareness campaigns to destigmatize mental health issues within the Assyrian, Chaldean, and Syriac communities.

Promote mental health awareness through community events, social media, and partnerships with local organizations and religious institutions.
