Service Description

Resha d’Rishane is a digital reconciliation and peace initiative created by Assyrian Chaldean Syriac Mental Health (ACSMH) to nurture dignity, understanding, and unity within the Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac community. Family estrangements, interpersonal conflicts, and community divisions can remain unresolved for years due to stigma, fear of gossip, or lack of a trusted space to communicate. Resha d’Rishane provides a culturally grounded pathway toward Shlama (peace). The process begins with a private inquiry reviewed by ACSMH. When appropriate, another person may receive a neutral Shlama invitation. Participation is entirely voluntary. If both individuals consent, they may participate in a Facilitated Shlama Session. Sessions are led by ACSMH Shlama Facilitators—selected professionals and community volunteers with backgrounds that may include mental health, social work, psychology, law, education, spiritual care, and related fields. Facilitators receive ACSMH program-specific training in reconciliation, communication, neutrality, confidentiality, boundaries, and conflict resolution. They are not represented as court-appointed or state-certified mediators unless independently qualified. Facilitators guide respectful communication but do not determine fault, provide psychotherapy, diagnose or treat mental health conditions, or provide legal advice through the program. Resha d’Rishane is not psychotherapy, medical or psychiatric treatment, legal representation, or an emergency/crisis service. ACSMH may decline matters involving abuse, violence, coercion, stalking, threats, protective orders, or other safety concerns. ACSMH handles information according to applicable privacy and confidentiality obligations. Confidentiality may be limited by applicable legal, safety, or reporting requirements. Participation does not guarantee outreach, a response, reconciliation, or any particular outcome. All payments are final and non-refundable once submitted. Participants must be 18 or older.
