Mental health stigma remains one of the most significant barriers in our community. Over the past year, ACSMH actively advocated for mental health education and awareness through workshops, panel discussions, and community events, including partnerships with trusted experts in the Assyrian, Chaldean, and Syriac Community.
Through initiatives like presenting at the AANF convention, we’ve addressed critical topics, including:
• Cultural misconceptions about mental illness.
• The importance of early intervention and resources for professional care.
• Creating safe spaces for open dialogue without fear of judgment.
We’ve seen firsthand the transformative power of awareness—families finding hope, individuals seeking help, and communities breaking cycles of silence. But this work is far from over.
With your support, we can continue advocating for a future where mental health is prioritized and stigma becomes a thing of the past.
This Christmas, help us spread awareness and end the silence.
